28:45 or so you have sas on when driving regularly, is that intended? Doesn’t the reaction wheel set to sas only mode mean it’s affecting your wheeling about here or did I miss something? I can never tell if I should leave it on or off for a rover and testing is inconsistent due to variability in my vehicles.

it's refreshing coming back to these videos after a long break from the game. when i got back into it i realized i ended up over-engineering many of my builds, but seeing something a SIMPLE as this is nice to know that i still have much to learn and expand (and shrink) my horizons with vehicle designs.

That point about how at ground level you already have some orbital speed to the east was very interesting. I've got hundreds of hours in this game, I knew that prograde orbits are easiest to achieve, but I never understood why. Thank you for explaining it :)

I don't know if you find the answers in the future, however, to fix your issue with MechJeb, you need to enable in Mechjeb settings "Module Disabling does not kill throttle" This is a setting specifically for RSS/RO. Also, your researchers produce unlock credit which you can use for tooling and unlocking new parts. I think this is supposed to represent the work they did while developing the new tech

It is surprising that the contracts just expect you to know what "barnstorm" means, given that barnstorming went out of fashion before WWII. At least there's no contract to do ballroom dancing on the wing.

The early contracts I get include a lot of 'Haul part X to altitude Y at speed Z!' I find these really HARD trying to get both the altitude and the speed to coincide eg "Haul Mk16 parachute to 10Km-13Km altitude at 30m/s - 90m/s!" Such an altitude at slow velocity! I'm either too fast or too low! lol.

If you have a level 1 pilot you can have them use retrograde stability and they will gradually let you down at a consistent angle
